print & cut invitation
Print your invitation, two per 8.5" x 11 " sheet (A). (It may take a few trys to achieve a layout you like - do a few test runs.) Using a razor knife and straight edge or paper cutter:
STYLE I: Cut to 4 1/2" x 6 1/2"
STYLE II: Cut to 5 1/4" x 7 1/4"
adhere layers
STYLE I: Apply adhesive to the back of your 4 1/2" x 6 1/2" invitation.
Carefully center onto flat card, allowing a 1/4" border on all sides (B). Adhere. Run a bone folder lightly over your invitations to force out air bubbles.
STYLE II: Apply adhesive to one side of the precut 5" x 7" flat card.
Flip your 5 1/4" x 7 1/4" invitation layer over, reverse-side up (*You will have better results making the invitation layer a bit bigger, and then cutting it down.) Carefully center, leaving a 1/8" border on all sides (C). Adhere flat card to invitation.
With a straight edge and razor knife, trip off the excess invitation layer, so that all sides of the invitation and flat card layers are flush. The finished size will measure 5" x 7".
Run a bone folder lightly over your invitation to force out air bubbles.
attach sash & ribbon
Fold decorative sash around the invitation overlapping in the middle (D) (the overlap can be either on the front or back based on your preference.) You may want to attach the sash to itself with a glue stick, glue dot, or double-sided tape.
Cut a 15" length of cord or ribbon and tie a single square knot in the front of the invitation. Trim the ends of the cord. If you wish to make a bow, the lenth of your ribbon or cord should be longer.
