Step 1: Print & Cut Layers
Each of the three layers below will be adhered to khaki cover weight paper cut to 5 1/4" square.
Layer 1 - Find a map of the area to which you are moving. Print from your computer or make copies using a color copier. Cut to a 4 3/4" square. Mark the area you are moving to with a star punch out of red text weight paper.
Layer 2 - Print your information, such as your new address, onto sage 8.5" x 11" text weight paper. Cut to a 4 3/4" square.
Layer 3 - Print any other information such as moving dates or house warming party specifics onto sage 8 1/2" x 11" text weight paper. Cut to a 4 3/4" square.
Hang Tag - On sage text weight paper, print and cut a label saying "We've moved!". You can print several onto one sheet. Cut to size.
Step 2: Assemble Layers
Apply adhesive to the back of each 4 3/4" layer. Carefully center the layers onto their own 5 1/4" khaki backing, leaving a 1/4" border on all sides. Adhere and run over the top lightly with a bone folder to force out air bubbles.
Apply adhesive to the back of the message for the hang tag. Carefully center onto the tag. Adhere and smooth with a bone folder.
Step 3: Bind Announcement
Measure and mark 1/2" in from the upper left hand corner of each layer. Punch with a 1/8" hole punch.
Place a gold 1/8" eyelet into the first card. Flip card with eyelet face down and place eyelet setting tool in back of eyelet. Hit setting tool with hammer to flatten eyelet. Follow the same instructions adding an eyelet to each of the remaining layers.
String the layers and the hang tag together using a 10" length of raffia. Secure with a square knot.
Step 4: Line the Envelope
Using the 5 3/4" envelope liner template, trace and cut out an envelope liner from the map paper. Slide into the envelope. Using a glue stick, apply adhesive around the edge of the flap of the liner only and adhere. Smooth with a bone folder if necessary.
