print & cut invitation

For each layer below, you will be able to get two our of an 8 1/2" x 11" sheet (A). (Remember that the top 1" of your layers will be tucked into the invitation backing. Make a practice copy first to make sure the text of your layers aligns properly.)

layer I: Cut to 3 7/8" x 8 1/2" (this is your unprinted decorative top sheet and in our kits is already cut to size.)

layer II: Print your invitation information on this layer and cut to 3 7/8" x 8 3/4".

layer III: Print any other relevant information, such as reception details, maps, or accommodation information on this layer, and cut to 3 7/8" x 9".

assemble layers

Fold backing card along the score line. Arrange all of your layers in order and carefully insert into the flap of your backing (B).

Using the pre-punched holes of the invitation backing as a guide (C), punch through the invitation layers with a 1/8" hole punch (Carefully paper clipping the invitation together will securely hold your layers in place as your punch.).

bind invitation

STYLE I - ribbon: Cut an 8" length of cord or ribbon and tie a single square knot in the front of the invitation. Trim the ends of the cord. If you wish to make a bow, the length of your ribbon or cord should be longer.

STYLE II - eyelet: Place eyelet into hole. Flip invitation, back-side up, with eyelet face down. Place setting tool in back of eyelet. Hit setting tool with hammer to flatten eyelet.

STYLE III - river reed: Select reed or twig and trim to about 3 1/2" with a utility knife or a tough pair of scissors. Cut a 10" length of linen thread from spool. Thread each end through holes from back, over twig, and back down through same holes (see illustration). Tie end together in back in a double knot. Trim ends.
