Step-by-Step
- Using scrap paper, make templates by cutting two triangle shapes with the following dimensions:
- Triangle One = 6 1/2" x 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" (diagonal side)
- Triangle Two = 6 1/2" x 11 1/2" x 13 1/4"(diagonal side)
- To make one paper kite, use your templates to trace 2 of each triangle, using different papers for each.
- With thin strips of tape, adhere the 4 triangles into a kite shape, overlapping each paper a little bit. Your Triangle One shapes make up the top of the kits; Triangle Two shapes make up the bottom.
- To make the kite tail, cut 2-3 feet of the 1/4" satin ribbon and adhere it to the back of the kite. For ribbon embellishments on the tail, cut three 6" pieces of 1 1/2" satin ribbon. Tie the 1/4" ribbon around the 1 1/2" ribbon at 6" intervals.
